About Ajeya Sanghati Club

Ajeya Sanghati Club — Haridevpur's community puja

Ajeya Sanghati Club, based in Haridevpur in the southern reaches of Kolkata, is a community Durga Puja established in 1961. Over six decades it has grown from a neighbourhood club into one of the better-known pujas of the Behala–Haridevpur belt.

The committee is recognised for thematic pandals that often carry a social message. In recent years Ajeya Sanghati has used its Durga Puja canvas to highlight issues such as women's empowerment (a 2025 theme centred on women achievers) while maintaining the festive, devotional core of the festival. Its art direction typically favours bold, larger-than-life tableaux that travel well on social media and draw visitors from across the city.

Like many South Kolkata community pujas, Ajeya Sanghati balances crowd-pleasing spectacle with local welfare activities, and it remains a dependable stop on the southern pandal-hopping circuit. The club's longevity — more than 60 years of uninterrupted celebration — is a testament to its deep roots in the Haridevpur community.

Ajeya Sanghati Club was established in 1961 in Haridevpur, South Kolkata. Across more than sixty years it has become one of the recognised community Durga Pujas of the Behala–Haridevpur area, known for thematic, message-driven pandals and sustained neighbourhood engagement.
