Golden Arrow Club – Rashbehari’s Nature-Themed South Kolkata Puja

Golden Arrow Club is a Durga Puja committee in the Rashbehari area of South Kolkata, listed among the well-known pujas of the city’s southern belt. The club has built a reputation for thoughtful, craft-led pandals and for idol concepts rooted in nature and folk idiom rather than in overt spectacle.

In 2012 Golden Arrow Club celebrated its 50th year of Durga Puja. That year’s pandal used tribal bamboo art to create a rustic, village-like atmosphere; the structure was built by artisan Anno Chetan from Hooghly, while the concept was developed by Shamita Sen. The committee’s nature-oriented approach was also evident in earlier years: around 2010 it worshipped Durga as the Goddess of Nature, presenting a tribal idol conceived as emerging from Brahma’s navel, and was noted for its emphasis on eco-conscious, fire-safe celebrations and community welfare activities such as medical camps and school computer donations.

The club’s pandal and idol have been documented by photographers and listed in South Kolkata puja guides alongside marquee names such as Ekdalia Evergreen, Singhi Park, and Mudiali Club.
