About Jodhpur Park
Jodhpur Park Saradiya Utsab — South Kolkata’s Quietly Daring Para Puja
Jodhpur Park Durga Puja — organised by the Jodhpur Park Saradiya Utsab Committee at 1/D Jodhpur Park — was founded in 1951 and entered its 75th (Platinum Jubilee) year in 2026. The address itself becomes a landmark during Saptami, Ashtami and Navami as crowds spill from Lake Gardens to Jodhpur Park.
The club has built a reputation for diverse themes and a surprise element each year. For its 75th year it announced “Guptayan” (the hidden journey) — conceived by Biman Saha as an invitation to look beneath the surface, choosing restraint and depth over spectacle in a season of ever-louder pandals. The reveal, built around a child, a mask and a fading tram in sepia, signalled a puja confident enough to whisper.
Known for a spacious pandal and a sculpted idol of notable grace, Jodhpur Park remains a must-visit on the Dhakuria–South Kolkata pandal route — a puja that lets its ideas, rather than its volume, do the talking. Its platinum-jubilee restraint drew wide attention, proof that a committee need not shout to be heard above the city’s October roar.
For pandal-hoppers, Jodhpur Park rewards a slower pace: stand before the installation, hold the thought, and let the goddess and the hidden journey look back at you. It is precisely this quiet daring that keeps the club essential to the southern Kolkata Puja calendar.
