One of the oldest community (barowari) Durga Pujas of North Kolkata, the Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojonin Durgotsab has been celebrated since 1933 from its pandal at 175A Aurobindo Sarani (near the old Khanna Cinema Hall), Hatibagan, in the city's 700006 postal district. In 2025 the puja completed its 93rd year, a milestone that underlines its deep roots in the neighbourhood's cultural life.

Like many traditional North Kolkata pujas, Nalin Sarkar Street long followed a conventional Bonedi-style format before turning to theme-based installation art. The committee embraced the theme-puja movement around 2000 with the concept “Baaro Maashe Tero Parbon” (thirteen festivals in twelve months). Over the following decades it built a reputation for playful, detail-rich pandals that draw large crowds during the annual puja parikrama.

Its 2023 theme, “Abol Tabol Para”, a colourful tribute to Sukumar Ray's nonsense rhymes, became a social-media favourite and brought the club national attention. For 2025 the committee presented “Rupantar” (Transformation / Metamorphosis), designed around the artist Sanatan Dinda's vision — charting how simple childhood memories and everyday objects evolve into something greater, turning the pandal into a nostalgic, painterly canvas.
