About Sree Bhumi Sporting Club
Sree Bhumi Sporting Club
Sree Bhumi Sporting Club, based in Lake Town in the northern fringes of Kolkata, is among the city's most ambitious theme-puja organisers. Over the past decade it has become famous for monumental, often fantastical pandals that recreate global landmarks in clay, bamboo and light, drawing enormous crowds during the festival.
The club's recent record is striking: 2023's Disneyland-inspired theme, 2025's recreation of the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, and a 2026 announcement to build the Hawa Mahal of Jaipur. These large-scale, instantly recognisable concepts have turned Sree Bhumi into a must-visit stop on the North Kolkata–Lake Town pandal route and a regular contender for the major puja awards.
Because the pandal is built to be walked through, queues can be long on peak evenings; visiting on Sashthi or early Ashtami morning is advisable. The nearest transit is Bidhan Nagar Road railway station. Beyond the spectacle, the committee maintains the ritual core of the puja, and its theme songs — released each year on its own channel — have become a local staple.
